While other manufacturers attempt to be revolutionary and develop aircraft from scratch to beat the competition by a wide margin, Cessna has taken the less risky evolutionary approach of using new permutations of proven technology.


This conservative approach has served them well; their track record for coming out “on time, on budget and as promised” with their newest designs has been spot on.


The Excel was one of those evolutionary aircraft, but I think even Cessna might be a bit surprised at how successful the Excel/XLS/XLS+ series has been.
